Cascade Connections is celebrating Disability Pride Month this July by hosting their first ever Hamster Art Walk and Roll – an accessible Art Walk showcasing the creative gifts of individuals with disabilities.

The Hamster Art Walk and Roll will be held on July 17, from 4pm – 7pm at Barkley Village Green. In addition to art displays and vendors, the event will feature a performance by Out of the Ashes and will serve as a resource fair, connecting members of the disability community with businesses and organizations that promote and advance inclusion and accessibility in Whatcom County.

About Disability Pride Month

Disability Pride Month is celebrated each July in honor of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It is a time to recognize the legacy, achievements, struggles and lived experiences of people with disabilities. Over 70 million people in the United States have a disability and Disability Pride Month highlights the contributions of individuals within the disability community.

How to get involved:

Cascade Connections is looking for artist vendors, community partners, and business sponsors. Thanks to a generous donation from the Whatcom Community Foundation, participation is free for attendants, vendors, and community partners. If you would like to show your work, promote your organization, become a sponsor, or volunteer, please see the event page for more information here.

If you are interested in volunteering or contributing to this effort, please contact marketing@ccsite.org.
