Saturday, February 6th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Lydia Place, along with star guest host, Misha Collins, are bringing Bellingham’s largest Valentine’s Day event to living rooms across Whatcom County and beyond.

Hearts for Housing, Lydia Place’s largest annual fundraiser and auction, is set to launch via www.heartsforhousing.com- live, with an out-of-this-world 2021 Space Odyssey inspired event with silent auction packages crafted for you or that special someone in your life. Whether it is a partner, family member, friend, kiddo, furry friend-or yourself, they have something for everyone.

Last February, before the pandemic, Hearts for Housing’s in-person event had over 500+ guests in attendance who helped raise $275K for Lydia Place programs and services.

Since March of last year, the number of families experiencing homelessness in Whatcom County has more than doubled. In 2020, Lydia Place provided 41% more emergency shelter bed nights for families with children than in 2019.

That’s why Lydia Place’s Community Engagement Director, Tally Rabatin, says this year is mission-critical. “As an agency, we will continue to strongly advocate for long-term solutions to this on-going crisis while trying to balance the needs of our community.

“We owe our sincerest gratitude to our Presenting Sponsor, Innovations for Quality living, and to our Match Sponsor, Random Acts, and all our event sponsors and supporters who have stepped up to help us make this year’s virtual event possible. More than their generosity, we are proud and fortunate to work alongside such businesses and individuals who share in our vision of community where everyone has a home and the opportunity to thrive.”

For those that cannot attend this year’s virtual event on February 6th, they can still get involved by becoming a Lydia Place Housing Hero. For as little as $5 per month, you can help Lydia Place continue to say “yes” to families in need of emergency housing. For more information or to set-up your recurring gift today, visit: www.lydiaplace.org/hero.

All proceeds from Hearts for Housing benefit Lydia Place, a local nonprofit agency working to disrupt the cycle of homelessness for current and future generations. General admission tickets are free, but you must register as a general admission guest to gain access to the auction and watch the evening’s program with Misha. Limited VIP Experience packages are available beginning at $200+ and come with the full VIP experience, including early access to the auction, an invitation to the live VIP Zoom watch party, a galaxy themed goodie box, access to games, giveaways, and more!
