BECU Welcomes Sarah Nuanes as Branch Manager of Its First Neighborhood Financial Center in Bellingham

BECU recently welcomed Sarah Nuanes as the branch manager of its first Neighborhood Financial Center (NFC) in Bellingham, opening this August at the Lakeway Shopping Center on Lakeway Drive. In her role, Nuanes is responsible for overseeing the NFC’s day-to-day operations while also recruiting members and coaching, training and developing a newly formed team of BECU member consultants.

With over 18 years of experience in financial services, Nuanes brings a wealth of knowledge to one of the nation’s largest community credit unions. Prior to joining BECU, Nuanes served as a retail branch manager at KeyBank, where she managed sales of bank products, developed relationships with both existing and prospective local businesses, and led a team of personal bankers. Before that, she held manager roles at Union Bank for over two years.

Nuanes earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming. Extending support to her community, she also serves as board treasurer for Children of the Valley’s after-school program and even ran for mayor of Mount Vernon, Washington in 2019.
