Whatcom County Public Works would like to inform the public that mandatory repairs and maintenance to the Lummi Island and Gooseberry Point dock’s lifting mechanisms are needed. The project will require that the loading span be locked in a level position while replacement of cables, pulleys, and other gear take place.
Ferry operations must be suspended during the project work. Due to the complex nature of these repairs there will not be any exceptions or additional runs after the posted last run times. All work is anticipated to take place during the night hours.
On the following dates:
- Sunday, April 26, 2020
- Monday, April 27, 2020
- Tuesday, April 28, 2020
- Wednesday, April 29, 2020
- Thursday, April 30, 2020
The last runs for the Whatcom County Ferry on these dates will be the:
- 10:00 p.m. run from Lummi Island.
- 10:10 p.m. run from Gooseberry Point
These repairs are weather dependent and are subject to change. The Public Works Department would like to thank everyone in advance for their cooperation and patience during these mandatory repairs.
