After 37 years of dedicated service to PeaceHealth, Dale Zender has made the decision to retire. We are so grateful for Dale’s valuable contributions and express our sincere thanks for his servant leadership and commitment to our Mission, patients and the Northwest network communities. Dale’s last day is September 30, 2019.

With his long heritage in the Bellingham community and deep Catholic roots, Dale has always maintained a special relationship with the sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. This combined with his professional accomplishments including the opening of PeaceHealth Peace Island and the integration of PeaceHealth United General into the Northwest network family — just to name a few.

Dale’s commitment to the community has been a hallmark of his career. In 2015, Dale was named the Whatcom Business Alliance’s Business Person of the Year. He was also the recipient of the John Tiscornia Award, honoring at least 20 years of service in recognition of his outstanding leadership, stewardship and exemplification of PeaceHealth values.

Dale asked me to share the following personal message with you:

“I am humbled and proud to have served PeaceHealth for most of my career. Each and every day you have inspired me with your dedication to our Mission and your commitment to our patients, their families and the communities we are blessed to serve. I know you will carry on this great legacy of care and healing.”

Chuck Prosper will transition from network Chief Operating Officer to the interim Lower Northwest Chief Executive role as we thoughtfully and deliberately determine next steps.

Finally, thank you for your continued leadership and valued support during this transition. Most importantly, please join me in congratulating Dale on his well-deserved retirement.
