children's choirSpivey Hall Children’s Tour Choir travels from Atlanta to perform on Monday, June 9 at the First Congregational Church in Bellingham. Admission is free and children are welcome.

This internationally acclaimed 42-voice ensemble of young singers ages 12 to 18, produces a refinement of tone that belies their ages.

The Tour Choir has been featured on public radio broadcasts in Atlanta and nationwide and been honored to perform for numerous National Choral and Music Educator Conventions. They have toured and performed in Austria, Czech Republic, Sweden, Norway, England, Canada, Scotland, and in 2009 at the Beijing Concert Hall with the China Children’s Choir.

Dedicated to excellence, the Spivey Hall Children’s Choir Program, under the leadership of founding director Dr. Martha Shaw, has provided professional-level instruction to thousands of Georgia’s young singers over the past 20 years as the resident choir at Clayton State University’s exquisite Spivey Hall.

As the program celebrates it’s twentieth season, they will perform favorites from the past twenty years.  Selections will include “The World is Full of Poetry,” “Song for the Mira,” “Dirait-on,” and the marvelous “J’entends le Moulin” featuring pianist Judy Mason.

They are also thrilled to present a world premier piece by Bob Chilcott entitled “Birthday Child,” commissioned in honor of the choir’s anniversary.
