For a festive winter day in downtown Bellingham, visit the Whatcom Museum’s Deck the Old City Hall, and then walk over to the Whatcom Land Trust Office for WinterFest—Gifts Inspired by Nature on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
This year marks the fourth year of the Whatcom Museum’s Deck the Old City Hall, which is open Wednesdays through Sundays, noon-5pm, until December 31, 2016. The historic building is decorated in garlands, wreaths, and sparkling lights, and features more than 20 themed, decorated trees. Shop the pop-up Museum Store, featuring seasonal and handmade gift items and decor. As a gift to the community, Museum admission is by donation, and proceeds benefit Museum programs and exhibitions
After you get your fill of the beautifully decorated trees at Old City Hall, walk over to Whatcom Land Trust on North Commercial Street between 5pm and 8pm for a cup of cocoa, soft music by Swing Set, and shopping directly from local artisans. Featured artists include John D’Onofrio, Andrea Gabriel, Mark Turner, Ginger Oppenheimer, and AnnMarie Cooper, to name a few. Look for stocking stuffers, notecards, and books galore, signed by our local scribes. Gifts Inspired by Nature is also featuring local food favorites as gifts—everything from berries to chocolate. All-natural gift wrapping will be provided, and a portion of sales benefit Whatcom Land Trust’s work preserving and protecting the Nature of Whatcom County.
