Your Cost Includes:

Bus transportation, breakfasts at the hotel and entrance to all venues.

Additional Personal Expenses:

Lodging at Best Western Astoria Bayfront Hotel in Astoria, Oregon. You must pay for this on your own by August 28 to get the reduced group rate, but you can certainly partner up with others to share the room cost. Rates are: Double “Queen” room at $170 + tax per night and “King” room at $160 + tax per night. Phone number for reservations at the hotel is (503) 325-2205.
Lunch for all three days.
Dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings at restaurants of your choice in downtown Astoria.
Transportation Details:

Friday, Sept. 30, depart at 7:30 a.m. from north end of Bellingham Four Points Sheraton Hotel’s parking lot. Return to same location Sunday evening around 8 p.m.

Excursion Description:

This excursion augments some of the information presented by Bob Vinatieri in his ALL Zoom class on Thursday, Sept. 22. His class is entitled “The Legacy of the Lewis and Clark Expedition”.

Friday, Sept. 30 – Depart Bellingham at 7:30 a.m. – Tour of the WA State Capitol Campus and a visit to two Lewis and Clark sights: Dismal Nitch and Station Camp.
Saturday, Oct. 1 – Visit to Fort Clatsop at Lewis and Clark National Historic Park and the Astoria Column; after lunch visit the Columbia River Maritime Museum and perhaps the Hanthorn Cannery Museum.
Sunday, Oct. 2 – Visit Mt. St. Helen’s Johnston Ridge observation area and eruption display near the base of the volcano. Return to Bellingham around 8 p.m.
