Join renowned filmmaker/athlete/activist Miho Aida in defending the Arctic Refuge.
Miho Aida works tirelessly to protect the refuge by highlighting the stories of those leading the movement on the ground – the Gwich’in. Aida’s film “The Sacred Place Where Life Begins: Gwich’in Women Speak” transports us to the coastal plain of the Arctic Refuge where the Gwich’in Nation has stewarded the land since time-immemorial. The film underscores the need for solidarity and collaboration amidst the threat of oil development in this special place.
We are honored to have a representative from the Gwich’in Nation traveling with us.
The event is hosted by Mount Baker Sierra Club and Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship
