HomesNOW! will celebrate the completion of our first two tiny homes for the homeless with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The event is free and open to the public.
The ribbon-cutting celebration will include remarks by Jim Peterson, President of HomesNOW! and an opportunity to tour the tiny homes at Safe Haven. Food will be served at 1:30 pm.
The tiny homes are the first of 20 homes that will be built for Unity Village, a tiny home village for the homeless that will be located in Fairhaven near the Post Point Wastewater Treatment Plant.
HomesNOW’s mission is to end homelessness one person at a time. HomesNOW! has successfully run two tent encampments in Bellingham (Winter Haven and Safe Haven) and built three tiny homes on Lummi Nation, which have helped 17 people find permanent housing and 9 people find employment. HomesNOW!’s goal is to provide a safe place for homeless people to live and keep their belongings while they look for permanent housing.
