For the month of August, Make.Shift Gallery is excited to present ?Narrative Anatomy?, a group exhibit featuring works by Kelsey Skordal and Rosie Lockie, two Bellingham-based artists who work in alternative comics and painting. Their practice shares a commonality and a foundation in narrative, which can be both elaborate in construction (comic storytelling) and vague in suggestion (painting). Both artists will show original comic panels, paintings, and drawings that explore narrative on varying scales and scopes.
Kelsey Skordal is a painter and graphic designer based in Bellingham, WA. After studying painting and printmaking at Colorado College and working as a studio intern at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, she moved back to the Pacific Northwest to be close to family. Her paintings and drawings have been shown throughout Washington and Colorado.

Rosie Lockie has been working in comics and painting since graduating from Western Washington University in 2011 with a degree in Studio Art. She recently completed artist residencies with Mary Sky Contemporary Art (Hancock, VT) and Short Run Comix & Arts Festival (Seattle, WA), and continues to participate in regional comic festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Please join us for opening night on First Friday Art Walk on August 2nd from 6-10pm. For more information about the Art Walk or Make.Shift please visit our website at makeshiftproject.com or contact Jessyca Murphy at gallery@makeshiftproject.com.
