Mark UN International Day of Peace with songs and stories from Afro-folk musician Naomi Wachira, writer Rena Priest, a vegetarian dinner and more. The theme for this 15th annual celebration is “Violent Pasts, Peaceful Futures.” The Howard Harris Lifetime Peacemaker Award will be given out.
Entry is free of charge. The dinner costs $5-$20 per person on a sliding scale. Cash/check donations are welcome throughout the evening and will benefit the Whatcom Peace & Justice Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which relies on the generous support of community members to sustain educational programs including Alternatives to Military Service and active nonviolence trainings.
