“First prize: $10,000, second prize: a set of steak knives” The Race to Alaska is 750 miles from Port Townsend, WA to Ketchikan, AK; any boat without a motor can qualify.

Race creator Jake Beattie will be at Backcountry Essentials to share the history and stories of the R2AK. Jake is a native hamster who learned to sail as a kid on Bellingham Bay through the Community Boating Center.

Stone’s Throw Brewery will be pouring beers!
