WWU Professor of English Kathryn Vuli will give a talk entitled “Exploring Medieval Manuscripts” from 4:00-5:30 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 14 in WWU Libraries Special Collections (Wilson Library 6th floor). Using both original and facsimiles of medieval manuscripts held by Special Collections, Vuli will provide an overview of the study of medieval handwriting, manuscript construction, creation and preservation. Her talk will focus on composition, writing, binding, circulation and ultimately preservation, leading us to a better understanding of the medieval processes around manuscript production and use. Vuli has been at Western since 2004 teaching Medieval Literature and Romance, Old Middle English, British Literature as well as seminars on Chaucer, Chaucer’s England and Tolkien’s Medieval Sources.
