The DeWaard & Bode Charity Golf Tournament is on Thursday, September 14 at Avalon Golf Links, Burlington, with a shot gun start at 9:00 a.m. We are asking for your support through donation, hole sponsorship, event sponsorship and/or gathering your friends to play 18 holes!
This year our tournament will benefit Blue Skies for Children and their Little Wishes Programs. Blue Skies supports local homeless, low-income and foster children ages 6 to 18, funding enrichment activities, school related expenses, summer camps and basic essentials. Funds raised by this event will be used by Blue Skies to support its mission to, “raise hope and self-esteem by sponsoring enrichment activities and other essentials for homeless, low-income and foster children.” Blue Skies for Children serves 500 to 700 children through each distribution program – Shoe Give Program, Back-to-School Backpack Program, Winter Warm Up, and impacts the lives of more than 1200 children annually through its Little Wishes Programs. With a very lean operation and staff of three part-time employees, the organization utilizes over 185 volunteers who serve over 1800 hours annually. Events such as this are key to the Blue Skies ability to serve our local homeless, low-income and foster children throughout the next year.
