Allied Arts of Whatcom County invites you to our exhibit Of the Land, From the Land. This installment will include pieces by John Hoyte, Lori Hill Sterling Rung, Belinda Botzong, and Liz Cunningham. Their work brings perspective on nature and our relationships with it, through such media as watercolor, acrylic, photography, found objects, and beadwork.
John Hoyte creates watercolor and acrylic paintings of nature.
Lori Hill is an artist working in oil. Her work is all about color and perspective and she likes to surprise the viewer.
Sterling Rung’s work explores the dynamic relationship of reconnection to the earth through the lenses of temporary land art and photography. Integrating the human form and nature’s textures, and coupled with expansive and intimate landscapes, their work reveals instinctual relationships in nature.
Belinda Botzong is inspired by natural and discarded objects, Belinda repurposes items into her own creations and invented her own technique, “Petals-as-Paint,” where she takes flowers to design abstract and impressionist works.
Liz Cunningham’s work is done by weaving together glass beads and or various stones to create necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
Allied Arts is a non-profit gallery, proceeds from sales go to support the arts in our community.
