Our theme this year is: “50 years of Freedom or 50 years of Fear?; Chaos or Community? Where do we go from here?”. This echoes the title of Dr. King’s 1967 book, “Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community.” We are asking participants to reflect on what has changed and what has not changed since Dr. King’s death 50 years ago. How can we work together to build a healthy, just and sustainable community and avoid the chaos that accompanies fear, racism and injustice?
Our keynote will be “A Collective Contribution,” a fishbowl conversation between women of color. There will be skill building workshops for children (with an adult), teens and adults.
Clock hours are available for school educators. Information booths and complimentary refreshments, as well as food vendors on site with lunch options for purchase.
No childcare provided.
