Growing Veterans Annual Plant Sale @ Bellewood Acres

Growing Veterans Annual Plant Sale – Huge selection of organic plants starts, grown locally by veterans. Large variety of heirloom and organic tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, onion, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, herbs and more. Bellewood Acres will have family fun activities all weekend including Easter egg hunt, petting zoo, Easter bunny, brunch and more. All proceeds from the plant sale help support Growing Veterans dirt therapy programs.

Every day is Earth Day at NSEA. This year we were inspired by our belief statement to put together a film festival to celebrate the environment with you.

NSEA is proud to present the First Earth Day Wild & Scenic Film Festival at the Mount Baker Theater. Considered one of the nation’s premier environmental and adventure film festivals, these films combine beautiful cinematography and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire and ignite possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for us all.

COME FOR THE FILMS ONLY OR ENHANCE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH A $10 MEMBERSHIP DONATION AND RECEIVE A KLEAN KANTEEN PINT GLASS.

Visit the Walton Theatre to see what a dozen of our non-profit partners are doing to shape the culture of Whatcom County. Plus, there are prizes to be won! 20 of our economic partners have donated over $1,600 in prizes to the raffle!

Boys & Girls Club Inspire Higher Dreams Gala @ Silver Reef Casino

BP presents the Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County’s 5th annual Inspire Higher Dreams Gala & Auction. The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. on April 26, 2019 at the Event Center at Silver Reef. Tickets are available on whatcomclubs.org for $150 per person.

Guests will enjoy a plated dinner, silent and live auction, dessert dash and after-party with SpaceBand. The Gala is a formal event and formal attire is encouraged.

We Are Skookum Scavenger Hunt @ Perch & Play

We Are Skookum Scavenger Hunt @ Perch & Play

In partnership with Bank of the Pacific, the Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Bellingham Partnership, we’re hosting the first annual We Are Skookum Scavenger Hunt on April 27 & 28. From 10a – 2p, beginning at Perch & Play, teams of 1 to 20 will collect stamps at partner-businesses and Bellingham landmarks in Downtown Bellingham and Squalicum Harbor. The stops and prizes are different Saturday vs. Sunday so do it one or both days. Registration is free for the weekend and includes capes, discounts at various participating businesses, and admission to our after-party at 2p on Sunday, April 28.

Bellingham’s 18th annual April Brews Day brings 65 PNW craft breweries, 12 food trucks, 3 local bands, and thousands of people together to celebrate beer and raise funds for Max Higbee Center in Downtown Bellingham.

Max Higbee Center offers community-based recreation programs for youth and adults with developmental disabilities. The money you spend at April Brews Day helps continue their programs. Thank you for your support!

Western Libraries Heritage Resources is partnering with Congregation Beth Israel for a Used Book Sale! The sale will be at the Congregation Beth Israel (751 San Juan Boulevard, Bellingham) on Sunday, April 28, 2019 (“Mitzvah Day”), from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A large selection of Judaic books and media will be available, including fiction and non-fiction, children’s titles, Jewish life and religion, Torah commentary, reference and art books, Jewish history and the Holocaust, records and CDs, and more. The sale is to be held in the downstairs nursery school. Arrive early for the best selection! Most books will be priced at $1.00 and cash or check only will be accepted as payment. Proceeds will benefit the Beth Israel Library and the Western Libraries Heritage Resources Judaica Collection.

Wild Whatcom brings the outdoors to kids in Whatcom County and is creating future leaders and stewards of the earth. Funds raised will help Wild Whatcom expand programs to include all kids who want to explore outside through experiential programming.

KMRE benefit fundraiser: Powered Up! @ Hotel Leopold

It’s time to get your Boogie on! Mark your calendar, invite your friends, and join us for an evening of fun, music, libations, food, and dance to benefit the new KMRE-FM, your listener-supported community non-profit, public radio station in Bellingham, WA.

Bellingham’s own Atlantics will be headlining the evening starting at 7 p.m. on May 3rd, and we’ll be partying in the grand ballroom of the newly remodeled, historic Leopold, 1224 Cornwall Ave.

There will be raffles for donations from local businesses, an opportunity to score some new KMRE swag, beer and wine, food truck and ice cream vending.

You’ll get a chance to meet the new core crew team of volunteers pioneering the new station sound and you’ll be able to dance, swing, and boogie to The Atlantics, a mixture of boogie, pop rock, and good ol’ blues.
