GenCyber camp (middle school) @ Whatcom Community College

For middle school students who want to explore cybersecurity, a rapidly growing, high demand field in the U.S. and worldwide. Participants will learn through hands-on computer activities how cybersecurity professionals help protect information and information systems from unauthorized access, misuse, and destruction.

Middle school – July 8-12, 2019
High school – July 8-12, 2019

The GenCyber camps are offered at no cost to participants. Funding is provided jointly by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation through a GenCyber grant.

Holes in your favorite jeans? No problem! This class will teach you the basics of crochet and how to apply simple patches to repair clothing artfully. Please choose a small mending project appropriate for the time allotted. Students will receive 10% off materials purchased for the class.

Financial Beginnings: Grades 3 – 6 @ Bellingham Public Library

Through a variety of hands-on activities and games, kids will learn how to create a budget, use banks and credit unions (making deposits and withdrawls), and how credit and interest work. Kids will also be able to distinguish between the roles of producers and consumers and understand supply vs. demand.
