Bellingham Roller Betties Home Season Opener:  F.L.A.S.H vs. The Aftershocks and Tough Love vs. The Cog Blockers @ Whatcom Community College Pavillion

The Bellingham Roller Betties (BRB) host their first home bout of the season at the Whatcom Community College Pavilion on Saturday, March 30 at 5:00 PM. Energy levels run high as home teams have been training in the off-season with new members on each team. Team F.L.A.S.H., last season’s champions, are welcoming the Aftershocks from Marysville, WA to their first friendly bout where they will build their team led by captains Princess Rainbow Sparkles and Tornado Ally. In the second bout of the evening, Tough Love, led by captains Bertha Beatdown and Kim Carnage, takes on the gritty hard-working Cog Blockers with captains Kissin’ Case Barlow and Go Go Gadget. All ages are welcome and tickets are available at the door or online. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. with the first whistle at 5:00 p.m.

Are you a writer in search of a writing group? Village Books is hosting a poetry writing group on the mezzanine level of the store near the poetry section and Book Fare Café. Come meet other writers who can help you get organized, give feedback, and help you with your writing goals. This group is open to newcomers and drop-ins and meets the first and third Thursday of each month from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m.

For 14 years, the Paddling Film Festival World Tour has been showcasing the very best paddling films. The World Tour screens in more than 120 cities around the world. We’re especially proud of our 2019 film selection and want you to experience them with us. You’ll be inspired to explore rivers, lakes, and oceans; push extremes, embrace the paddling lifestyle, and appreciate the wild places. Friends, family, and like-minded paddlers are welcome. We hope to see you there!

Come celebrate early with a vendor expo, purchase raffle tickets, grab a beer or cold beverage, and settle in for the first ever Bellingham screening of the World Tour Paddling Festival hosted by Moondance Sea Kayak Adventures.

Ticket purchase includes a digital subscription to Paddling Magazine and a raffle ticket for a chance to win an Aqua-Bound paddling prize pack (up to a $425 value).
