Ski to Sea

First run in 1973, the Ski to Sea is a multi-sport team relay race from the Mount Baker Ski Area to Bellingham Bay. The race is held annually on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend in Whatcom County, Washington. A Ski to Sea team consists of three-eight racers competing in seven different sports: Cross Country Ski, Downhill Ski/Snowboard, Running, Road Bike, Canoe (2 paddlers), Cyclocross Bike, and Sea Kayak. The Race course runs through the towns of Glacier, Maple Falls, Kendall, Everson, Lynden and Ferndale, finishing at Marine Park in the historic Fairhaven district of Bellingham. Together with the Historic Fairhaven Festival, Ski to Sea is the largest one-day event in Whatcom County and Bellingham, drawing racers, spectators, and tourists from the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia, and around the country.

Farmers Day Parade in downtown Lynden @ Downtown Lynden

The Farmers Day Parade is one of the longest running parades in the Northwest. Join us on Front St. in Lynden starting at 10th St. and running to 3rd St. as an eclectic menegarie of cars, bands, tractors, trucks and horses salute the Agriculture Industry of Whatcom County!
Since the early 1900’s when the farmers of the Lynden area took to the streets to show off their produce and animals, the Lynden Farmer’s Day Parade has brought smiles to faces of young and old alike!

Join us Saturday, June 1 as we salute those who feed us and enhance us!
Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. but you are advised to arrive early

Bellingham Naked Bike Ride & Body Positivity Block Party @ Make.Shift Art Gallery
Jun 7 all-day

Join us, Friday, June 7th as we ride to protest our “indecent exposure” to fossil fuels, highlight bicyclist’s vulnerability, and redefine cultural narratives about body image.

Riders, and non-riding participants, can join the action with body painting, starting at 4 pm at a block party (focused on body positivity) in front of the Make.Shift Art Gallery, 306 Flora St. At 6 pm, the ride will embark from this location, lapping through downtown Bellingham. Live music follows the ride, as the Body Positivity Block Party continues.

Only ride “as bare as you dare” wearing as much, or as little, as feels comfortable! This event is both free and freeing, but donations are so appreciated!
