Bushcraft Basics & Split-Stick Salmon Workshop w/ Northwest Natura

Learn and practice several key skills every camping and outdoor enthusiast should know:
-What your priorities are in a survival situation
-Practice shelter-building (demo)
-Practice fire-making w/o a lighter
-Learn about water sources & sanitation
-Learn how to identify common wild edibles
-Practice tying several useful knots
-Practice harvesting plant fiber to make cordage (split stick)
Practice gathering materials to cook without pots/stoves
-Knife and ax skills
-First aid kits – what you may want to carry, and how to use splints and tourniquets.
-Cooking techniques without pots or stoves (roast NW salmon filets and other treats provided by your instructor. Your own foraged finds can be included in the cookout).

We will practice all of these skills together in this full-day course.
