With earlier sunsets and crisp evening temperatures, autumn’s onset also means that gourds and pumpkins are available to pick and purchase at farms across Whatcom County. Here’s a rundown of local locales for your pumpkin-picking activities.

Bellewood Farms

6140 Guide Meridian Road, Lynden

The well-known apple orchard and distillery is also home to Whatcom County’s largest pumpkin patch, and is open Wednesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through October 31.

In addition to pumpkins, Bellewood sells pumpkin apple bread, pumpkin pies, sugar pie baking pumpkins, pumpkin spice liqueur and other pumpkin-based gifts. There’s also a free corn maze, plenty of u-pick apple varieties, and fresh apple cider to go along with $3 bin train tractor rides and apple cider donuts.
