Inspired by the classic Oklahoma Onion burger, Fiamma’s new smash burgers are made with two house-ground Country Natural Beef patties smashed with shaved onion, seared hot and crispy, served on a warm buttery bun with Fiamma sauce, pickles, and two slices of melty American cheese.
Back in the summer of 2005, Fiamma Burger made its debut at the Bellingham Farmers’ Market in the form of a mobile unit. Fiamma aimed for a West Coast spin on the smash style burger, thus the flagship Fiamma Burger was born — a patty smashed and cooked to order that still holds the thickness and texture West Coasters had come to expect. The community embraced the flagship burger, especially in regards to the quality of ingredients. As Bellingham continues to evolve, Fiamma burger is still committed to using those same, quality ingredients to create a flavorful smash style burger with a variety of additions available.
“Years ago, as we developed Fiamma Burger, we fell in love with the traditional smash burger along the way — at the time, it just wasn’t in,” says Fiamma Burger Operations Manager Mo Breiter. “We’ve always loved smash burgers. So we’re doing it. Like all things Fiamma you can expect the ingredients to be high quality, the bun to be toasted perfectly, the cheese to be extra delicious, and our sauce to be perfect.”
Fiamma’s new menu also features “MoJo potatoes’’ — jo-jo-inspired potato chunks smothered in sauce and toppings, plus a rotating selection of slushies, house-made teas, juices, and aguas frescas. Fried chicken sandwiches, an Impossible smash burger, and a vegan veggie burger also make an appearance on the menu. In tandem, Fiamma launched a loyalty program that, along with cash-back rewards, includes access to a “secret” menu that features funky twists on items, past fan-favorites, and more!
Fiamma Burger is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and offers casual sit-down dining, outdoor seating, and online orders for pickup or delivery.
