Small Time Virtual Film Festival To Launch This Spring

Lighthouse Mission to receive all proceeds

Submitted by Moment Films

Creatives from around the Pacific Northwest will participate in the inaugural Small Time Film Festival launching this March, with all proceeds benefiting the Lighthouse Mission to help break the cycle of homelessness. The rules are simple: anybody can submit an entry that is 1 minute or less by May 15th, 2021, following the theme of ‘60 Seconds that Changed the World’. The  virtual festival will then be held the weekend of June 19th on a computer screen near you – with expert break-out sessions with professional filmmakers discussing everything from scriptwriting to fundraising and distribution.

First Prize is $500, plus a matched donation to the Lighthouse Mission. To sign up and learn more, click here

“With COVID-19 affecting everyone, we thought this was a great way to reinvigorate our amazing community of artists” says Julien Scherliss and Chris Donaldson of Moment Films, in a joint statement. “We know great stories can be told in 60 seconds, so we’re super excited to see what everyone comes up with.”

All entry fees will be donated to the Lighthouse Mission. The mission serves 650+ meals per day, houses 220 men, women and children each night, and has provided over 1000+ medical visits in this last year alone.

“We’re excited to be part of the first Small Time Film Festival. I’m grateful we get to partner with Moment Films on this and that Lighthouse Mission was chosen to be the beneficiary this year. All the funds raised will be of great help to our friends and neighbors experiencing homelessness. And as a fellow filmmaker, I can’t wait to watch the creativity fly!” said Hans Erchinger-Davis, Executive Director of Lighthouse Mission Ministries.

About the Lighthouse Mission

For almost 100 years, the Lighthouse Mission has been helping people break the cycle of homelessness and poverty by providing life-saving services to people in need. This is done through four distinct programs that come alongside people, wherever they are at, to offer hope, give dignity, serve, and support as they undertake the difficult work of leaving homelessness behind.
