PeaceHealth announced its purchase of a 5-acre parcel of land in Lynden on which to build a 22,500 square-foot medical clinic to serve North Whatcom County. The location of the site is at the intersection of E. Badger Rd. and Benson Rd.

“We are delighted to move one step closer to enhance healthcare service to the communities in North Whatcom County,” said Misty Parris, vice president of operations for PeaceHealth Medical Group in Northwest Washington and SE Alaska. “The site for the future clinic is ideal with easy access and room for plenty of parking,” continued Parris.  Construction is expected to commence in spring 2021, with an opening date approximately 18 months later.

Fifteen providers and between 40 and 45 support employees will work in the new clinic which will initially offer primary care services, both traditional and same day. PeaceHealth also plans to relocate its existing Lynden-based orthopedic clinic to the new site on opening.  Additional specialty care services such as cardiology, OB-GYN, and pediatrics, and ancillary services such as imaging and laboratory services will be added as local demand dictates.

PeaceHealth has selected Portland-based PKA architects to design the facility. PKA has a depth of experience in healthcare architecture, including several buildings and remodels for PeaceHealth.
