According to their website, the Riveters Collective “discovers, develops and promotes effective progressive civic action in Whatcom County and neighboring communities.”
Recently they’ve also been raising funds to buy meals for healthcare workers. Based on that success, they—along with State Representative Sharon Shewmake—reached out to include front line staff for other essential services. Today, the bus drivers and mechanics at Whatcom Transportation Authority enjoyed 120 hot, delicious lunches from Calypso Kitchen.
People in our community continue to rely on the bus to reach groceries, medicine, medical appointments, and other essential services. WTA is grateful to the Riveters Collective for acknowledging the work of our dedicated, professional front line employees!
