Dance the night away to Paul Klein and the Atlantics while being immersed in the arts. There will be art activities and demonstrations, a raffle, beer & wine garden, and BBQ. This all takes place on Saturday, August 3 from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM in the Judson Alley, directly behind the Jansen Art Center. The proceeds of this event are to help support the arts in our community and fundraise for the Jansen Art Center’s programming.
Since 1980, Paul Klein (vocals/piano), Cary Stevens (drums), Bill Tootell (bass guitar), Geeb Johnston (guitar), and Mark Kelly (sax) have been playing together as the Atlantics. The band is known for their mixture of boogie, pop rock, and good ol’ blues with influences like Ray Charles, Muddy Waters, B.B King, and many others. Opening for them is Rosewood, a duo compromised of Kathleen Dean & Sophia Van Zonneveld who play Indie, Folk, Blues, Jazz, Classic Rock, Ballads, and Country music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
Each one of the Jansen Art Center’s creative studios will have their own showcase with art activities, demonstrations, and items available for sale. The ceramics studio will be selling beer steins they produced for $30. A beer ticket will be included with the stein so you can fill it up and get some use out of it right away!
Be sure to check out our raffle with items from local artists and the opportunity to drive a Porsche for the weekend! Vroom vroom… ! A ticket to Art in the Alley includes a free raffle ticket and then more will be sold during the event if a certain item sparks your interest.
Tickets are $25 and may be purchased in person at the Jansen Art Center’s Gallery Shop or online at jansenartcenter.org. This event is for ages 21 and over. Thank you to our title sponsor, Karen Timmer. If you would like to become a sponsor by making a donation or donating an item to our raffle, please complete the online form or contact Margaret at 360-354-3600.
