Whatcom Smart Trips is hosting a “Bike Party on Bay Street” on Bike to Work and School Day, Friday, May 17.  The Bike Party is from 4 pm to 7 pm. It will be held in downtown Bellingham on Bay Street, between West Champion and West Holly Streets.

Whatcom Smart Trips is hosting a “Bike Party on Bay Street” on Bike to Work and School Day, Friday, May 17.  The Bike Party is from 4 pm to 7 pm. It will be held in downtown Bellingham on Bay Street, between West Champion and West Holly Streets.

The Bike Party is free and open to people of all ages. Everyone is welcome. Participants can enjoy games, a tricycle contest, music, food trucks and a beer garden.

“The Bike Party is our way of celebrating with all those loyal bike riders who ride regularly, as well with those who’re giving it a try on Bike to Work and School Day.” Michelle Grandy, Smart Trips Outreach Coordinator.

All Bike Party attendees are encouraged to arrive by bike.

Bike to Work and School Day is a national event.  In the past as many as 10,000 Whatcom County residents have participated by riding their bikes to work and school, and by stopping at “Celebration Stations” throughout the county.
