This year’s 19th Annual Bellingham Human Rights Film Festival brings many stories of inspirational activism. We show ordinary people who took action to right wrongs, to defend their communities from destructive outside forces, to challenge dominating interests in unusual ways, to create communities of cooperation and resilience.

This year we offer 24 films of activism by artists, young people, African Americans, indigenous peoples, health care investigators, defenders of the environment, Latinx, and immigrants.

We are happy to have thirteen venues throughout the city and county. Most films at our primary venue, Fairhaven College Auditorium on the campus of Western Washington
University, are followed by discussions facilitated by someone involved with making the film or by experts familiar with the issues the film covers. Representatives and activists
from local organizations are also available as resources for further learning and involvement.

Thank you for attending. The most important outcome of the festival is awareness, coupled with the responsibility to act. What issues speak to you? Find where your energy and time are useful and satisfying. Be part of making the change you want to see.
