Join the CBC for an afternoon of paddling, sailing and learning among fellow women in the community! Choose your adventure by signing up for a combination of on-water sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding and outrigger canoeing lessons (provided by BBOP) and classroom sessions in sail theory, basic kayaking, intro to navigation and boating safety, and learn from prominent women boaters in the community. Want to just get out on your own? Participants will also have access to rentals of paddleboards and sit-on-top kayaks. Move between as many activities as you like to get experience in multiple areas. Check out the schedule to see all the possibilities!
This event is geared toward women in the community looking to break into boating of any kind. Come learn, explore and have fun with fellow women in a supportive and friendly environment. Take advantage of the opportunity to network with fellow boaters and make new friends to hit the water with!

Skookum Turns 3! is a celebration of the work we’ve done and the support we’ve had in our community. It’s free to the public. Perch & Play will also be open in case you want to check it out or grab a cold drink.

The festivities kick off on Friday afternoon, July 20 in downtown Lynden including; live music on two stages, face painting and inflatables for kids, the “Rookies” 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. Dine on luscious raspberry and ice cream sundaes, parfaits and pies made from local berries, or purchase a flat of raspberries, picked fresh daily from nearby farms to take home! Shop at Lynden’s downtown merchants and street vendors at the “Berry Fair” Street Market, and enjoy a nice cold raspberry beer at the “Timeout Razz Beer-y” Garden. Start Saturday morning off right with an all-you–can-eat pancake breakfast topped with local raspberries at the Lynden Community Center.

Proceeeds after expenses are donated to Community Outreach Programs Christ Episcopal Church 382 Boblett Street in Blaine.

A prolific artist in the contemporary singer-songwriter arena, Tret Fure has released 15 albums and CDs over the course of her 48 year career. In addition to being a gifted songwriter, Fure has engineered and produced countless recordings by a variety of artists, including her own work. Now after seven acoustic releases on her own label, Tomboy girl Records, Tret has re-established herself in the folk world, winning the South Florida Folk Festival Singer/Songwriter Competition in two out of three categories.

On Saturday, August 11, 2018, Haggen Food & Pharmacy and Barkley Village present the first ever outdoor concert in Barkley Village with all proceeds benefiting Lydia Place. The concert will take place from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the newly developed Barkley Village Green located at 2219 Rimland Drive in Bellingham, WA.

Attendees at the first ever Concert on the Green will get to see Sunset Superman, The Naughty Blokes and featured artist Polecat performing live on stage. While the bands are performing, guests can enjoy beer provided by Kulshan Brewing Co., Aslan Brewing Co. and Boundary Bay Brewery plus delicious food provided by Jalapenos, Chow Gourmet Hot Dogs, Sugar Shack Ice Cream Truck and Poutine Your Mouth.

This is an all-ages concert with adult tickets available for only $20 (includes two drinks), youth tickets for $10 (12 and under) and children five and under are free.
