The Hunts @ Mount Baker Theatre
Mar 30 @ 8:00 pm

Known for their harmony-laced alt-folk, the Hunts are a Chesapeake, Virginia-based band of seven siblings who have been playing music together almost their entire lives. Twin sisters Jessi and Jenni and brothers Josh, Jonathan, Jordan, Justin and Jamison—now ranging in age from 26 down to 17—learned to sing and play violin as young kids and spent much of their childhood performing in their community. Adding mandolin, piano, ukulele, banjo, drums and now songwriting to their repertoire has brought to life a batch of songs that reveal the siblings’ sophisticated sense of melody and undeniably dreamy innocence. A best bet to connect with all ages!

The Trio’s eclectic musical taste has created a unique sound and an incredible performance of beautiful, grooving music.

“Kaeli Earle is a major talent. It has been a terrific experience playing my music with her and she has helped take Eurocana music in many new and wonderful directions. She can really sing too!”

Gallowglass

Saturday, November 6, 2021
7:30pm

Gallowglass, an acoustic Irish band from Bellingham, plays Irish jigs, reels, and polkas with a driving elegance and they arrange traditional songs in surprising and captivating ways.

They formed on St Patrick’s Day in 2014 with Jan Peters (vocals, harmonicas, bouzouki, guitar), Zach Bauman (vocals, mandolins), and David Lofgren (bodhrán, percussion). Having all heard of one another they met to jam after all the shows, festivities, and tune sessions in town and it was instant musical joy. They’re now a four piece ensemble with Mishon Kirkland (vocals, flute).

Jun 5 @ 3:00 pm
Bellingham Symphony Orchestra Concert: Resounding Joy ft. Daniel Bolshoy @ Mount Baker Theatre

We finish our 46th season with classical guitarist Daniel Bolshoy joining us for an afternoon of powerful, beautiful, and inspiring pieces by musical giants. If you enjoyed Bolshoy’s guitar mastery during last season’s At Home with Daniel & the BSO, you will love seeing and hearing him in person.

Bolshoy solos on Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Guitar Concerto, the orchestration of which was designed “to give more the appearance and the color of the orchestra than the weight,” according to the composer. Virtuoso Spanish classical guitarist Andrés Segovia used this work as a counterexample to the idea that a solo guitar cannot be heard over an orchestra.

We close with the magnificent Beethoven Symphony No. 5 and our thanks to our community for your support through these challenging times.

4th of July Concert @ Paws For A Beer

Celebrate your hard-earned fourth with some fresh tunes from a few of Bham’s local faves – Foxy Apollo, Madam Monarch, and Fossil Fire! Music starts at 6.

About the Artists:

Foxy Apollo
Foxy Apollo exploded onto the Seattle scene in 2016, a sometimes 4-piece, sometimes 6-piece musical powerhouse that combines a unique blend of jazz, funk, rock, and pop. Formed and fronted by Sam Ashkenazy, the band’s current lineup includes bassist Zachary Schmidt, keyboards/trumpeter Jackson Cruz, saxophonist Andrew Hewitt, and brothers Dalls (drums) and Shaun (guitar) Quick. The collective released its debut LP, Sweet Talk, in 2020, lending to some of the band’s best-known tracks, including the jazzy “Boatplane” and the sultry, summery “Someday.” In December of 2021, Foxy Apollo released their first single since the pandemic “New Shade of Blue,” and recently dropped “Sex AM” back in February.

Madam Monarch
Madam Monarch is a 3 piece pop-rock band from Seattle, WA! Crossing bright and bold energy with dark outlines- almost like butterfly wings- their sound is electric, fiery and emotionally-charged. Their members include Maddy Wyse on bass and vocals, Baylee Harper on drums, Taylor Mastin on guitar, and Alex Dillard on guitar, who also records and produces their tracks.

Fossil Fire
Fossil Fire is a band composed of members that have performed in a variety of settings. Their music is inspired through a mix of indie, alternative, and roots rock genres. A locally based band from the ham, they feel that their work is uniquely suited to PNW music lovers.

There will be plenty of beers, ciders, seltzers, and wine available, and Simmering Tava will be serving the best Indian food in town!

This concert is open to anyone 21+ and dogs 6 months+.

Harmony from Discord Meets Mozart's Requiem @ Mount Baker Theatre

It seems fitting that our eighth Harmony from Discord concert pairs two very different requiems, welcoming back local choirs, for the beauty of voices raised together in song. Wu Fei’s masterpiece, Hello Gold Mountain, explores the lost possibilities of calamitous situations, a perfect addition to our growing repertory of Harmony from Discord works. This and Mozart’s Requiem both include voice, solos, and orchestras, but in very different ways. Join us as we explore these similarities and differences and welcome choirs from Western Washington University and the Bellingham Chamber Chorale to join us!

We could not be more pleased with how popular and successful this series has been, and we know you will love this program as well.
