Earth Scouts Summer Camp @ Fairhaven Park
Jul 24 @ 9:00 am
Earth Scouts Summer Camp @ Fairhaven Park | Bellingham | Washington | United States

At our Earth Scouts camps, 6-12 year old students will learn to live in harmony with nature as they play sensory awareness games, follow the trails of wild creatures through the forest, forage for wild food and medicine, practice earth-based skills, hear stories, sing songs and have some good ole muddy wild adventures in the woods! Our students always go home more connected and truly alive!

This camp will have a focus on living with the earth in the style of our ancestors.
We will be connecting to the bounty of wild plant materials the Pacific NW forest in Summer has to offer and utilizing them in various ways, such as:
*   Food and Medicine (Edible/Medicinal/Toxic Plant ID)
*   Basketry
*   Tools such as cordage, burned bowls and utensils
*   Adornments such as visors and jewelry

Along the way, the students will be:
*   Learning basic knife/handsaw skills and safety
*   Safe fire-making and tending techniques
*   Learning through games and missions
*   Working together with peers in a positive way
*  creating projects by hand from start to finish

All of our programs feature:
* A 1:6 staff-student ratio
* Staff trained as Coyote Mentors at the Wilderness Awareness School with 20 years combined experience mentoring children in nature
* Caring mentors who hold strong boundaries and foster a culture of respect (for ourselves, others, and nature!)
* First Aid and CPR certified Staff

Earth Scouts Camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and are open to children ages 6-12.

If your child is younger and not ready for the long day, check out our Wild Wanderer Camps for 4-6 year olds!
