Bring the family out to beautiful downtown Blaine for this family friendly fun dash. A 1.5 mile obstacle run starts off the festivities at 3:00 p.m. at the H Street Plaza, H Street & Peace Portal Drive, Blaine, WA. Day of registration opens at 2:00 p.m. Sponsored by the Blaine Chamber of Commerce, Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2 and Let’s Move Blaine, the course charges up H Street traversing local streets and returning to G Street Plaza. You can either run or walk this course! Click here for a map. Families are encouraged to dress in holiday attire! Medals awarded to the first 100 finishers! Strollers, wagons or sleighs on wheels welcomed for the younger family members.

Spanish Brass Christmas Concert @ Mount Baker Theatre

Founded just shy of 30 years ago, Spanish Brass is one of the most dynamic and admired brass groups on the international music scene. They have participated in some of the most prestigious venues and festivals around the globe, and in 2017 the group received the I Bankia Music Talent Award in Spain for the most influential musical artists. Anticipate a sparkling and pitch-perfect evening from these masters of brass who have on their list of accomplishments 22 recordings and the founding of two international brass festivals.

Come experience the true spirit of the holiday season with the gift of giving through song at the first annual Fairhaven Fa-La-La Caroling Competition and Fundraiser.
Winterfest-goers and local celebrity judges will take to the streets of Fairhaven Village to experience a holiday banquet of 20 or more caroling “groups,” performing for an hour on the streets of Fairhaven. In addition, the caroling groups will be engaging in “Fa-La-Lanthropy,” raising raising money for the Historic Fairhaven Association and Northwest Youth Services.
During the caroling event, the public will have the opportunity to give donations in “Fa-La-Lanthropy” boxes at each caroling group’s sidewalk site.

Portland Cello Project Plays Radiohead, Coltrane, & Bach @ Mount Baker Theatre

Don’t miss this regional treasure filling MBT’s stage with a huge, orchestral ensemble that includes brass, percussion and guest vocals by Patti King of Portland band the Shins. Formed twelve years ago with nine classically trained cellists, Portland Cello Project has a mission to bring cellos to new places, bring new music to cellos and bring to audiences all of the sonic ecstasy that happens in the process. Expect this alternative-classical group to perform an evening of powerful arrangements from unexpected artists, culminating in Radiohead pieces that wander from truly epic to breathtakingly intimate.
