Kulshan Quest Adventure Race @ Fairhaven | Bellingham | Washington | United States

Kulshan Quest – sponsored by Kulshan Brewing and offered by Recreation Northwest – is a breed apart from other multi-sport events. On race day, teams of up to four members will arrive at the starting point in Fairhaven with no advance knowledge of the course. They’ll be given a map with numerous checkpoints and will have 30 minutes to plot their route to the finish line. Then they’ll spend the next several hours together navigating the checkpoints via foot, bike and, for some, kayak.

If you’re ready to try paddleboarding, you’ll find that Bellingham Bay is a fantastic place to start. Paddle along Boulevard Park for a leisurely afternoon, or pack some water and paddle down to Chuckanut Island for a memorable workout. Our classes start from the beginning and cover appropriate clothing, balance techniques (kneeling, standing), paddle strokes (forward, backward, sculling, bracing), and self rescues.

The Grand Finale of the Northwest Traverse Series, Bellingham Traverse is a multi-sport event celebrating the life cycle of wild salmon and the natural and urban challenges of their journey. Solo, tandem and relay teams challenge themselves and one another on a rugged course that highlights the City of Bellingham’s Parks, Greenways System, bike-friendly roads, and open water opportunities for recreation.

The Traverse Course includes a 5.5 mi. Greenways Run, 6 mi. Mountain Bike, 18 mi. Road Bike, 3.4 mi. Trail Run, 3.6 mi. Paddle, 0.65 mi. Team TREK to the finish at Boundary Bay Brewery

Have fun with your friends and compete with the best–everyone is welcome to participate in this beloved community event. Celebrate your accomplishment with a pint of Traverse Ale at the Boundary Bay Brewery Finish Line!
