Pumpkin Patch on Rails at Lake Whatcom Railway @ Lake Whatcom Railway | Sedro-Woolley | Washington | United States

The Lake Whatcom Railway Pumpkin Patch on Rails returns for 2018. New this year – Family photos by Kyla Goff Photography are included with your ticket! Enjoy the beautiful fall colors of the forest as you are serenaded by the music of Ben the Banjo Player. We will be traveling in authentic Pullman passenger cars from Wickersham Station through the tunnel and on to Mirror Lake. Once we arrive, you will have the opportunity to ride an antique handcar prior to picking out a pumpkin to take home. After you pick out your pumpkin, sit back, relax and enjoy the short journey back to Wickersham. All ages are welcome to relive memories and create new ones on this nostalgic ride through history. You will be riding on train cars that have been in use for more than 100 years! Throughout your visit, you will see many pieces of railroad history, including our antique steam engine, number 1070.

Help for the Holidays Fundraising Event! @ Station 12
Dec 9 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Many of you have heard about the fast-moving and deadly fires that have been raging throughout California over the last several weeks. The Camp Fire in Northern California is the largest and most deadly fire California has ever seen. Thankfully, this fire is finally nearly contained, but not before taking the lives of more than 80 people, destroying more than 18,000 structures – most of them homes – and decimating hundreds of thousands of acres of beautiful California land. Hundreds of people are still missing.

There are more than 4,700 firefighters from stations from around the nation are helping to stop the spread of these terrible wildfires. Washington State Department of Natural Resources has sent more than 100 firefighters, and dozens of others have been sent from city and county stations around our state.

As I’ve watched this natural disaster unfold, I have been searching for a way to help in any way possible – maybe you have, too. Here is your chance!

Join us for a “Help for the Holidays” event! For your minimum donation of $50, I will be hosting Micro Sessions at a local fire department, featuring a small holiday scene onsite with a tufted green couch, and garland supplied by Pozie by Natalie. The station will have a fire truck on site for us to utilize for a bright and cheery photo backdrop. After you get your photos taken, local firefighters will be providing fun truck tours! All funds collected at this event go directly to the Bellingham/Whatcom County Firefighters Benevolent Foundation, where funds can be distributed in the most effective way to support those risking their lives to fight these fires. Collection of donations will be managed by the Bellingham / Whatcom County Firefighters Benevolent Foundation.
