Semiahmoo Resort, Golf, and Spa hosts an unforgettable Vintner’s Weekend & Dinner Friday, April 28 through Sunday, April 30, 2017.

Winemakers from DeLille Cellars, Gehringer Brothers, Leonetti Cellar, Northstar, Panther Creek and Red Willow Vineyard will be in attendance to pour some of their feature wines, as well as host enlightening wine tasting seminars throughout the weekend.

The educational weekend will begin on Friday with a wine tasting reception, complete with port and chocolate around a beach bonfire.

Saturday’s events will include educational tasting seminars mixed with time to enjoy the many activities available at Semiahmoo. The evening will culminate with an intimate Vintner’s Dinner Gala Dinner expertly crafted by Executive Chef Bruno Feldeisen. Sunday morning guests will have the opportunity to engage in a final educational seminar.

Weekend packages start at $475 per person and include:

Join us for Bellingham’s 2nd Annual Bellingham Northwest Wine Festival on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Four Points by Sheraton Grand Ballroom. The Festival will include both a public wine tasting and the announcement of all medal-winning wines entered in an earlier judged competition. The Festival and judging are open to up to 50 wineries from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia.

Whether you’re a serious wineophile or have only limited experience with wines, the Festival is a great opportunity to meet winemakers, have a nosh or two, and sample an amazing selection of Pacific Northwest wines!

Net proceeds from the event go to the Whatcom Beer and Wine Foundation for distribution to a number of Whatcom County non-profit organizations.

A trio of famed Walla Walla Valley producers, led by Norm McKibben of Pepper Bridge Winery and Seven Hills Vineyard, will lead a weekend of tastings, education and a gala dinner for wine enthusiasts during the third-annual Northwest Wine Encounter on June 1-3 in Bellingham.

The weekend includes a wine-tasting event, four interactive presentations with tastings led by top winemakers and a gala dinner featuring the culinary offerings of Whatcom County chefs paired with some of the Northwest’s finest wines.

“Northwest Wine Encounter is for people who enjoy the region’s finest wines and want to learn more from acclaimed winemakers,” said Suresh Rao of DS Vintners, organizer of the event.

All of the Northwest Wine Encounter events will be presented at one of its sponsors, Four Points by Sheraton Bellingham Hotel & Conference Center. Reservations for Northwest Wine Encounter may be made through May 10 by calling Four Points Bellingham at 360-671-1011.

McKibben will be joined in Bellingham by:

The June 2 gala dinner is a collaborative effort among Whatcom County chefs, including Gio d’Aquino and Jacob Hodgson of B-Town Kitchen & Raw Bar; Culinary Instructor Michael Baldwin and Brian McDonald of Bellingham Technical College and Justin Hawkinson of Crave Catering in Bellingham. The five-course dinner features local roasted lamb loin and lavender-spiced duck breast, plus spiced rum-poached pear for dessert. All five courses will be paired with wines from the participating wineries.

• Pear, apple, celery root, market greens and lemon soft cheese dressing, paired with a 2016 DeLille Cellars Roussanne.
• Soft poached local oyster and potato onion froth, accompanied by a 2015 DeLille Cellars Chaleur Blanc.
• Morel, Hubbard squash, Parisian gnocchi and Walla Walla cream, paired with a 2015 DeLille Cellars D2.

“The DeLille Cellars Vintner Dinner brings together some of our state’s best in food and wine,” said Suresh Rao of DS Vintners, organizer of the event.

The dinner will include Jay Soloff, co-founder of DeLille Cellars, which was named among the Top 100 Wineries of 2017 by Wine & Spirits Magazine. DeLille Cellars is one of only six wineries from Washington State and only 35 in the United States to make the list. Since 1992, DeLille Cellars has been pioneering Bordeaux blends in Washington State. Today it continues to perfect Bordeaux and Rhône-inspired wines that showcase the purity of fruit defining Washington State terroir.

After 11 successful years in Colville, Norman and Kristen Six moved Lovitt Restaurant last year to Fairhaven, where they still make everything from scratch. The cuisine is based on what’s seasonal and available.

Barkley Village and DVSAS – Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County are teaming up again for the second annual Barkley Village Wine Walk being held Friday, April 12th, from 5:00-8:00 pm. Participants can stroll through 12 Barkley Village shops and restaurants as they taste regional wines in pop-up tasting rooms.

All attendees will receive a keepsake wine glass, 8 wine tasting tickets, and a goodie bag provided by Haggen Food & Pharmacy for only $30!

The fun begins at 5:00 pm with check in locations at both John L. Scott or Country Financial. From there participants can make their way through the village to taste delicious wine.

As a bonus this year, Overflow Taps will be hosting an outdoor beer garden throughout the event with a VIP after party from 8pm-10pm. The after party will feature gourmet cheese platters and a full glass of wine included in a $20 VIP add-on ticket.
