The Nightmare on Maple @ Boundary Bay Brewery

Come one, come all to The Nightmare on Maple! On October 27-28 and 31, the Boundary Bay Brewery beer garden will be transformed into eerie scenes filled with ghosts, ghouls, and surprises at every turn. This Halloween event is all-ages from 6-9 PM and, during that time, features the Zombie Dancers performing at the BAAY Theatre. Attendees can also head down to Boundary Bay for the Haunted Fear Garden (entry at the alley off of Maple St). The Fear Garden becomes 21+ only from 9-11 PM, with more mature content. Admission is $10 general and $5 for kids ages 12 and under.

Community Helpers Storytime with a Construction Worker @ Ferndale Public Library

Highline Construction has partnered with Whatcom County Library System to enhance WCLS’s existing preschool Storytime program this fall.

An excavation-themed Storytime session will take place at Ferndale Public Library on Friday, November 3rd at 10:30am.

Levi Nyberg, Civil Production Manager for Highline Construction, will read a construction-themed picture book, answer questions about working in construction, and give kids a chance to climb aboard a real excavator.

The visit is part of a multi-week “Community Helpers” Storytime series hosted by the Whatcom County Library System. This series features guests from Whatcom Humane Society, Whatcom County Fire District, and Highline Construction and gives our youngest residents the opportunity to learn more about various professions and understand how the uniformed adults they see in the community contribute to helping make our county a safe place to live.

Come enjoy an exciting day of Roller Derby! @ Whatcom Community College Pavilion

We kick off the event as Whatcom County’s Junior roller derby league, The Subdued City Rollers, takes on Southside Alliance in a full-contact level 3 bout. Doors open at 2:00PM with the first whistle at 3:00PM. This is sure to be an exciting and hard-hitting match up.

Right after the juniors is a Bellingham Roller Betties double header. The first bout will see The Cog Blockers take on visiting team Dockyard Derby Dames at 5:00pm, followed by Tough Love competing against F.L.A.S.H. in the second bout of the night. Don’t miss out on the excitement as these teams battle it out on the track!

We have a concessions stand selling chips, candy and soda, and a beer garden serving Boundary Bay beer and wine, and Lost Giants cider.
