The 20th Anniversary Curt Maberry Memorial Classic 3 on 3 Tournament is held in conjunction with the Northwest Raspberry Festival which attracts thousands of people to town. Kindergarten through second grade youth will be entered into the Rookie Razz; Rookie Razz kids play all day on Friday only.

Grades 3-12 and adults play in the regular 3on3 Razz.

The 3on3 promotes sportsmanship as a crucial aspect of the tournament. All teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games. Divisions are based on gender, school grade, age, men’s competitive and men’s recreational. Four Players to one team only. All entry fees from the 3on3 go directly to the Lynden Chamber of Commerce, in supporting community events.

Come on downtown and play or cheer on your favorite basketball team! We look forward to seeing you! A special thanks to our many sponsors and volunteers ~ this event couldn’t happen without you!!

Alla Miller recounts her journey from Russia to Shanghai to Sumas. Her royal Russian parents fled the Russian Revolutions in 1917-1918 and settled in a large Russian community in Shanghai. During WWII this Russian community was disrupted which prompted Alla’s journey to Sumas. This program will take place at the Sumas Community/Senior Center, located in the same building as the library. For adults and teens grades 9-12.

Each ‘Ales N’ Sails’ excursion we will host a local brewery to join us and conduct tastings of their favorite beers for our passengers. Our guests can mingle with brewery representatives and learn about the brewing process, the inspiration behind each recipe and the different styles of beer. Come experience local history from the latest Washington Rural Heritage digitization project at Lummi Island. Isaac Colgan presents highlights from his research on Beach School and Lummi Island resort history. Hundreds of photos, documents and audio recordings were added to the Reef Net Fishing Collection begun in 2008. These materials are a perpetual treasure for all to explore and enjoy. Sponsored by Friends of Island Library and Whatcom County Library System. Digitization funded through a grant from the Washington State Library.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County Athletics Department is proud to announce the conclusion of the spring/summer baseball season with a tournament specifically made for recreation league teams. We would like to invite all members of the community to come out and show support for our kids while they play the sport they love and close out the season.

Introducing the Whatcom Wallop!

What: Double Elimination – Recreation League Baseball Tournament
When: August 10—12
Where: Phillips 66 Fields, 5541 2nd Ave, Ferndale WA 98248
Who: Minors (9U/10U) and Majors (11U/12U) Rec League Teams

This event will be free to the public.

Early registration (prior to July 17) will be $200/ team.
Late registration (July 17-25) will be $250/team.

This tournament is open to all current summer teams, teams from our spring league who would like to come back together to play, and rec teams from leagues outside of Whatcom County. Secure your spot now!
